  • Medical Homebound:
    Contact: Ms. Szweda mszweda@gacademysc.com

Medical homebound instruction is available to students who cannot attend school because of medical reasons. A physician or nurse practitioner must certify that the student is unable to attend school but may profit from the instruction given in the home or hospital. That physician must complete the form that the school will provide. After, the school will decide whether the student is approved for medical homebound services. When making this decision, the school will consider the following factors: the severity of the student’s illness or injury, the length of time that the student will need to be out of school, the impact on academic success and performance, and if the student’s health needs can be met at school.
